What is the difference between the F3400D and the F4400D series? The F3400D operates on VHF frequencies (136-174 MHz), which are ideal for wide-open outdoor spaces, agriculture, and marine environments. The Icom F4400D is the exact same radio, but it operates on UHF frequencies (380-470 MHz), which are better suited for indoor use and penetrating concrete and steel buildings.
Is this radio compatible with my older analog radios? Yes. The F3400D series supports analog/digital mixed-mode operation. It can detect whether an incoming call is analog or digital and automatically respond in the same format, making it the perfect radio for migrating your fleet to digital over time.
Can I use a Bluetooth headset with this radio? Yes! The built-in Bluetooth module supports hands-free audio operation with compatible third-party wireless headsets.
Does this radio come with programming software? Yes! When you purchase an Icom F3400D Series radio from us, we include the official Icom Customer Programming Software (CPS) with your order at no extra cost. (Please note: While the software is included, you will still need the correct Icom OPC2338 Programming Cable to physically connect the radio to your computer).
