Yes, the XPR2500 must be programmed with your licensed frequencies before use. You'll be asked at checkout whether you'd like programming, or you can add it in advance via our Atlantic Radio Programming Services page. To program it yourself, you'll need the Motorola CPS 2.0 software (HKVN4362A) and the PMKN4010B USB programming cable, both sold separately.
Can this radio be used as a base station?
Yes. By adding the GPN6145 desktop power supply and a base station antenna, the XPR2500 can be used in an office or dispatch setting without a vehicle power connection.
Does the XPR2500 support GPS tracking?
No, the XPR2500 does not have internal GPS. For integrated location tracking, consider the XPR5550e series, which includes built-in GPS/GNSS.
Is the XPR2500 compatible with existing analog radios?
Yes. The XPR2500 can be programmed with your existing analog frequencies, allowing it to communicate with your legacy fleet while you transition to digital at your own pace.
