Does the Hytera HP682 need programming, and is the software included?
Yes. The HP682 needs to be configured to match your radio network’s frequencies and analog or digital settings. Use the HP682-compatible H-Series version of Hytera CPS programming software, included with the purchase of an HP682 from Atlantic Radio. To program it yourself, you also need a Windows PC and the Hytera PC152 USB programming cable, sold separately. Software inclusion does not include the programming cable or programming service.
What is the difference between the Hytera HP602 and the HP682?
Both radios share the same rugged IP67 rating, AI noise cancellation, and 20-hour battery life. The HP682 adds a large 1.8" color LCD display and a full DTMF keypad, making it ideal for users who need to navigate menus, send text messages, or manually dial contacts. The HP602 features a smaller 0.91-inch OLED screen and no keypad.
Does the HP682 feature location tracking?
Yes, but only on specific models. If you need real-time GPS location tracking and wireless Bluetooth connectivity, select the GPS & Bluetooth model (HP682-G-BT-Um or HP682-G-BT-V1) from the dropdown menu when purchasing.
Can the Hytera HP682 communicate with older analog radios?
Yes. The HP682 supports analog FM as well as digital DMR. For analog communication, radios must operate in the same frequency band and be programmed with matching frequencies and compatible tone settings.
Does the Hytera HP682 come with encryption?
Yes. The HP682 includes basic digital encryption (ARC4) at no additional cost. AES 256-bit encryption requires the optional Hytera SW00017 license, sold separately for each radio. Radios communicating on an encrypted channel must have compatible encryption settings and matching keys.
Is a charger included with the HP682?
Yes. The HP682 radio kit includes the CH10L30 desktop charger and required PS1014 power supply. You do not need to purchase these separately when ordering the radio kit.
What is the warranty on the Hytera HP682?
Hytera provides a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty on the radio unit itself, and a 1-year warranty on included accessories.
