Yes, these radios must be programmed with your licensed frequencies and talkgroups before use. You'll be asked at checkout whether you'd like programming, or you can add it in advance via our Atlantic Radio Programming Services page. To program them yourself, you'll need the Icom CS-F7000 programming software and the OPC2338 programming cable, both sold separately. What is the difference between the T and S suffix models? The T designation indicates a Full DTMF Keypad layout for front-panel programming, manual frequency entry, and selective calling. The S designation is a Simple Keypad with streamlined directional controls that prevent accidental setting changes during field operations. Can the radio be upgraded to Phase 1 or Phase 2 trunking? Yes. The F7000 series ships P25 Phase 1 conventional-ready. Phase 1 trunking requires the ISL-P25TR license key. Phase 2 trunking requires both ISL-P25P2 and ISL-P25TR.
